The market for garment is split between – on the one hand side - the brand-holders interpreting and adopting recent fashion, innovative material and integrated global logistics and – on the other hand side – the production countries such as Romania, North Africa and China. Despite of this convenient work split, leading corporations controlling sales and development chains have invested in the integrated process of both creativity and productivity. Such companies have not only developed sophisticated quality control and purchasing systems. But many of them are interested in their own management structure in partner countries for cheap production.

Besides the main-stream of contract manufacturing (Lohn), production countries such as Moldova, Romania and Ukraine have recovered some of their management skills enabling Western so called producers to have their prolongated workshop (verlängerte Werkbank).
